Rebecca (Bec) Richardson is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners’ Registration Agency (AHPRA) and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Bec has a special focus on self-esteem issues, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, Adult ADHD and trauma therapy.
Bec endeavours to create a warm, relaxed and welcoming environment for her clients, which allows them to explore their challenges in a compassionate and uplifting atmosphere. She works together with her clients to help them to understand their struggles without judgement. Drawing upon their strengths, she seeks to equip and empower her clients to cope more effectively with life’s challenges and to create lasting positive change in their lives.
Bec has conducted research in the areas of emotional intelligence, coping and academic performance in adolescents. She has also conducted research on the challenges and impacts of family structure and parenting styles on families.
Bec uses individualised evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
Bec is skilled at administering and assessing a wide variety of psychological tests.
Bec sees clients across the life-span.
Outside of work Bec likes to spend time with her two teenage children and four animals including a Bordoodle (Barkley), Maltese x Pomeranian (Willow) and two cats (Arthur & Loki). Bec has previously worked as a surgical veterinarian nurse and still holds a passion for all animals.
Unfortunately, Bec is not currently taking on any new patients.
